Last week we posted about how many tiles we would need for our bathroom job. A few of you were able to calculate the exact number of tiles we would need and the exact number of bundles that we would need. Now let me tell you a little secret. When dealing with tiles and flooring the exact number is not always the right number. So while you were correct with the number of bundles we "should" need, we actually purchased one extra.

When we started laying tiles some of the tiles were broken so we needed that extra bundle to replace the broken ones. It is better in construction to spend a little extra to have extra parts, then it is to not have enough parts. The cost of the extra parts is much less than the cost of having a crew of men sitting around waiting for new parts.

If fact your teacher may want you to figure out how much better that is to have extra parts than wasted time ;)
